The Chakra System Print brings an introduction to the chakras and an exploration of each of the seven familiar centres together in one artwork.
Its detailed text traces chakra ideas through yogic and tantric traditions into contemporary interpretations. It introduces the subtle channels known as nāḍīs, the concept of prāṇa and the different ways chakra systems have been understood across traditions and time.
From the root to the crown, discover lotus imagery, Sanskrit letters, seed sounds, elements, deities and other traditional associations. Alongside these, the print explores modern themes of belonging, creativity, personal power, love, expression, insight and awareness, with reflections you can bring into everyday life.
At the centre, a seated figure and colourful chakra symbols give visual form to the ideas explored throughout the text. From a distance, the artwork brings colour and presence to your room. Up close, it becomes something to read, contemplate and return to.

I believe we are more than our physical bodies. We have a mind, a soul, an energetic body, and I’m curious about how these parts of us shape our human experience.
For centuries, people have explored energy and consciousness through chakra traditions, giving form to inner experiences through symbols, sounds and spiritual practice. As these ideas travelled and evolved, they took on new layers of meaning.
The chakras connect with my spirituality and with questions I keep returning to about who we are. I created this artwork to bring their history, imagery and different interpretations together in one place. I hope it becomes something you enjoy living with, reading and returning to, inspiring you to explore these questions in your own way.
The Chakra System Print brings together traditional symbolism, historical context and modern interpretations. Two key works that informed the research are:
Chakra maps vary across traditions and historical periods. These works offer particular accounts of chakra symbolism and practice, alongside the wider history explored in the print.
The artwork also discusses later interpretations and contemporary ideas about the chakras and their place in everyday life. These draw on a wider range of modern approaches and should not all be attributed to the two works listed above.
The text is an original account created for Ray of Light Prints. It presents the chakras as spiritual and symbolic frameworks for exploration and reflection.
